ENERGY EXCHANGE PROGRAM
The Energy Exchange Program is not merely a volunteer energy exchange position. It is a professional engagement that positions you at the heart of at the dance community, contributing to The Fifth’s ecosystem, community connections, and the fulfillment of tending to the safe studio environment.
The Energy Exchange program is structured to promote individual artistic development, self-discipline, and the refinement of professionalism and leadership skills at a meaningful level. As the program undergoes a thoughtful evolution, Energy Exchange (EE) Members are invited to become integral contributors to the dance community—helping shape a position that offers substantial return on investment while providing opportunities for advancement.
Become an Energy Exchange Member!
As an Energy Exchange (EE) participant, you'll become an integral part of our dance community by committing to a weekly shift with a minimum commitment of 3 months.
Energy Exchange (EE) members are the primary reason The Fifth Dance maintains a clean, professional environment for everyone who shares the space. While cleaning responsibilities might appear routine, the impact extends far beyond health and safety protocols. Caring for the studio in this capacity reflects the kind of environment we collectively aspire to be part of—one where respect for space, community, and the creative process is demonstrated through action.
EE Members serve as:
Stewards of the Space
Your attention to detail ensures that studios remain welcoming and functional for everyone who enters, directly impacting the daily experience of teachers, renters, and fellow dancers.
Community Builders
EE Members bring an energy that represents The Fifth—whether sparking conversation with a new student, helping someone navigate the studio, or supporting a dancer having a difficult day. You become the welcoming presence that makes The Fifth Dance accessible to everyone who walks through the doors.
Leaders and Problem-Solvers
EE Members are empowered to troubleshoot issues as they arise, provide directions, answer questions from first-time visitors, and monitor studio policies. Your presence offers peace of mind to staff and renters alike, knowing that a capable, knowledgeable representative of The Fifth is present.
Ambassadors of Trust
By returning forgotten items to lost and found or reporting valuable belongings to Fifth staff, EE Members ensure that nothing left behind is discarded or stolen. This responsibility brings genuine peace of mind to the community, knowing their belongings will be secured and returned safely.
The Face of The Fifth
In this revamped program, EE Members become integral to The Fifth's online presence. Staff create content with EE Members to promote classes, events, and studio atmosphere—including filming EE Members taking class for promotional reels. This visibility offers professional development in how dancers can engage with marketing and community representation.
BENEFITS
In exchange for your dedication and commitment, The Fifth Dance offers the following benefits:
Free Dance Classes: You'll have the opportunity to take dance classes of your choice, free of charge.
Free Studio Space: For every shift you work, you will get a designated amount of studio space, free of charge.
Discounts: As an EE, you will get access to exclusive discounts on merch & workshops.
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
The Energy Exchange Program is designed for dancers who are ready to integrate professional-level commitment into their artistic practice. To ensure the success of both the individual and the community, participants must adhere to the following requirements:
Commitment & Consistency
Participants are required to commit to the same 4-hour shift on a weekly basis for a minimum of three months. This structure ensures consistency and reliability within the program, allowing The Fifth Dance to operate smoothly while providing EE Members with a predictable schedule that respects their training and performance commitments.
Responsibility & Leadership
EE participants are expected to fulfill their assigned duties with initiative, professionalism and care. This includes arriving on time for shifts, completing tasks as outlined in the EE Guide, and approaching each responsibility with attention to detail and self-direction. Leadership is demonstrated not through title, but through the consistent execution of duties that keep the studio functioning at a professional standard.
Community Engagement
Active engagement with the dance community is central to the Energy Exchange role. EE Members are encouraged to interact with fellow students, instructors, and staff in a manner that reflects the welcoming and professional atmosphere of The Fifth Dance. Whether greeting a first-time visitor, assisting a teacher before class, or connecting with another dancer in the lounge, your presence contributes to the fabric of the community. EE Members are not simply present in the space—they are active participants in building it.
