Our policies mirror our Mission & Values

We believe that every dancer—from Absolute Beginner to Professional—can train in a safe, drama‑free environment where they feel at home. Everyone deserves the same amount of high-quality training, care and dedication no matter what their ultimate goals are.

We want to be a part of people’s dance journey and celebrate all their achievements, however big or small. Our values are accessibility, community, quality training, and the radical belief that no one is too old or too inexperienced to dance. Our vision is to become one large community of talented individuals and a place they can call home.

Zero Tolerance Anti‑Harassment & Non‑Violence Policy

Creating a safer, kinder space is something we all participate in. It requires collective care, attention, and accountability. We recognize that many of us come from dance backgrounds or environments that have been harmful, and we are committed to actively building something different together.

This shared responsibility belongs to all of us. Together, we hold ourselves and our whole community—students, faculty, staff, guest artists, volunteers, renters, and anyone present in our studios, virtual classes, events, or online spaces—to a standard of zero tolerance for harassment, violence, or discrimination.

Prohibited Conduct:

  • Bullying & belittling – Yelling, mocking, name‑calling, or putting down someone’s skill level (e.g., “you don’t belong here”).

  • Discriminatory or body‑focused comments – Remarks about someone’s body, appearance, gender identity, race, ethnicity, age, disability, or dancing ability.

  • Non‑consensual recording – Photographing or recording anyone without their explicit permission.

  • Physical violence – Fighting, shoving, hitting, or any unwanted physical contact.

  • Threats – Words or gestures that could reasonably cause fear of harm.

  • Sexual harassment – Touching without consent, sexual jokes, repeated date requests, sharing explicit images, leering, or sexualised “compliments.”

  • Stalking & unwanted communication – Following someone or contacting them after initially being asked to stop.

  • Retaliation – Punishing, excluding, or speaking badly about someone for reporting an incident or supporting a reporter.

Zero tolerance — Any violation of this policy, regardless of intent or first offence status, will result in immediate and permanent removal from all Fifth Dance programs, spaces, and events, without refund, upon the completion of an internal investigation of any incident.

You belong here. We are committed to actively creating a safer space together. This is not negotiable.
The Fifth Dance is for every body, every level, every journey.
