Rental Policies & Housekeeping Information
The Fifth Dance is a communal space for classes, privates, rentals & events. Respecting the policies and housekeeping information is crucial to maintaining a clean and safe environment for everyone.
Rental Policies
Access & Payment: Studio access is only granted upon full invoice payment.
Use of Space: Rentals must be used for the purpose stated at booking. Unauthorized use incurs a $50 penalty (e.g., using an artist rate for a class). For rentals with more than 20 people, an additional charge of $10 will be applied.
Cleanliness: Renters must leave the studio in the same condition as when arrived. A $40 cleaning fee applies if the space is not left in a clean and orderly fashion.
Liability & Insurance: Renters are responsible for securing appropriate insurance and contracts for their activities. Renters may waive this at their own risk, with the understanding that The Fifth Dance is not liable.
Supervision: The renter must be present and supervise all guests at all times. Minors under the age of 18 years of age require constant adult supervision.
Safety: The renter assumes all responsibility for participant safety and any accidents, injuries, or property damage. The Fifth Dance is not liable. For critical incidents, text/call us immediately at 647-746-5355 and call 911 if necessary.
Violation of these terms may result in immediate termination of the rental and all future bookings without refund.
Security Cameras: Security cameras have been installed in the MAIN Studio and lounge area. Footage is only reviewed if there is a safety or policy-related incident, and recordings are automatically deleted weekly.
Housekeeping Instructions
Our studio is a communal space; please respect it by cleaning up after yourself (disposing of trash, washing dishes, etc.) and leaving everything as you found it. A dry mop is available in the studio closet for your convenience; please sweep the floors after use. Report any damages or malfunctions promptly.
Music: A speaker with an aux cord is provided. Kindly bring any necessary adaptors. Please be considerate of noise levels during business hours (Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm) as sound may carry to neighboring spaces.
Floors: Please remove outdoor shoes upon entry and wear indoor shoes only on the dance floor. When wearing heels, utilize heel caps to protect the floors.
Security: For rentals after 8:00 pm, make sure to keep the studio door locked. Do not allow entry to unfamiliar individuals or permit bathroom use (as this would require sharing the access code).
Parking: Parking is not available at the studio. However, you can find street parking or nearby parking options.
Closing: Please ensure all doors are securely locked and blinds are closed upon your departure. If you're the last people in the studio (no remaining rentals, classes or Fifth staff on site), please secure the studio prior to departure.
Lock all doors before you leave, including:
Both sets of doors in the main studio (the single door by the plants, and the double doors by the lockers).
The common-area door leading to the washroom. This door is kept open by turning the lock so the door is propped open. Turn the lock back to its normal position and close the door — which locks it from the outside.
Policy on Advertising and Schedule Clarity
Purpose:
To ensure clarity and consistency in the advertising of classes and programs run at The Fifth Dance studio, thereby reducing confusion regarding schedules.
Scope:
This policy applies to all independent teachers, program coordinators, and anyone running their own businesses out of The Fifth Dance studio.
Policy Statement:
All advertising materials (including but not limited to flyers, posters, email marketing, social media posts, and ads, as well as advertising marketplaces such as ClassPass and MindBody) for classes and programs must include the following information:
The name "The Fifth Dance"
Contact information for The Fifth Dance (email or website).
Compliance:
Compliance with this policy is mandatory for all independent teachers, program coordinators, and business operators within The Fifth Dance studio. Non-compliance may result in the revocation of privileges to run classes or programs at The Fifth Dance.
Cancellation & Postponement Policy
Cancellations: Cancelled bookings receive studio credit; no refunds are provided.thefifthrentals@gmail.com
Postponements: To postpone, provide at least 48 hours' notice to receive studio credit, notifying the rental coordinator by email (thefifthrentals@gmail.com ). Postponement requests with less than 48 hours' notice may not receive credit.
Credit Terms: Issued credit is non-transferable and must be used within 6 months.
Exceptions: In case of emergency situations or unforeseen circumstances beyond your control, we encourage you to contact us directly to discuss your situation.
