This workshop explores dialogue within the individual body, and connected bodies. We will journey through improvisational tasks that incorporate physical contact and weight sharing/bearing. Previous dance experience is encouraged.

About Judy

Jia Yi (Judy) Luo is a Chinese-Canadian dance artist based in Toronto, Canada. She finds intrigue in people, patterns, puzzles, and play. Marveling at the body’s intelligence, she delights in sharing this fascination with others.

Judy holds her BFA in Performance Dance from Toronto Metropolitan University and is a laureate of the Hnatyshyn Foundation’s Developing Artist Grant. She is a former member of Rambert 2 (London, UK) where she performed and toured works by Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar, Micaela Taylor, Benoit Swan Pouffer and Megan Lawson in live and digital formats. Judy currently collaborates alongside Anne Plamondon, Liam Francis, Nova Bhattacharya, and Jessica Muszynski, and switches between the hats of performer, educator and rehearsal director. Judy can also be found in adverts and music videos for companies/artists including Nike, SportChek, Tim Hortons, Jessie Reyez and Feist.

About Dani

Daniela Jezerinac is native to Mississauga Ontario, where she began to pursue her artistic career at Canadian Contemporary Dance Theatre, under the direction of Deborah Lundmark. In 2019, she received a BFA from the Conservatory of Dance at Purchase College in New York. Prior to graduating, Daniela joined RUBBERBAND in the fall of 2018, with whom she has spent the last 5 seasons with. Daniela had the pleasure of creating in a process with Adi Salant for an upcoming work through the Propulsion program in Montreal She was also a summer Company member and Guest Artist with Frog In Hand for the 2021 & 2022 summer season.
