Beginner Pas de Deux with Lauren Janeway and Daniel Da Silva : Saturday, July 12th 2:00 PM-4:30 PM
Our beginner Pas de Deux workshop is designed as an introduction to the art of partnering. Discover the fundamental principles of partnering, all while benefiting from the inspiring teachings and insights of professional dancers. In this workshop, we’ll break down elements such as adagio movements, weight transfers, promenades and basic lifts. Join us to begin this exciting journey in Pas de Deux.
Beginner Modern with Steph Harkness: Sunday, July 13th 2:00 PM-4:30 PM
This workshop will explore movement through the principles of Limón modern dance, with a special focus on the principles of breath, suspension, and weight. We will explore these concepts in three ways: first, through a more ‘traditional’ technique class structure (ex. a somatic warm up, centre exercises, and travelling phrases), secondly, through improvisation tasks, and third, within a short movement combination. Together we will play with the principles to explore feelings of joy and release.

This workshop is designed for dancers who have a foundational understanding of ballet and are eager to elevate their technique while learning one ballet’s most iconic works, Sleeping Beauty. Structured in two parts, the workshop includes a ballet class warm-up and step by step instruction to learn Aurora’s Act 3 Variation. Join this exciting workshop, to learn insights about character arc and repertoire history in this workshop to grasp nuances in both the technical and expressive aspects of Sleeping Beauty.
Intermediate Pas de Deux with Lauren Janeway and Daniel Da Silva : Saturday, July 19th 2:00 PM-4:30 PM
Our intermediate Pas de Deux class is designed to elevate and refine the skill of partnering. Fine-tuning technique, learn to better support a partner by executing precise weight transfers and building deeper trust. This workshop will delve into more complex adagio movements, synchronized pirouettes, different kinds of promenades and lifts, as well as learning the repertoire of Grand Pas de Deux from Sleeping Beauty. Join us in a dynamic and challenging environment to advance your mastery of Pas de Deux.
Intermediate Modern with Megan Nadain: Sunday, July 20th 2:00 PM-4:30 PM
This intermediate-level modern dance workshop is designed for dancers with some experience who are eager to deepen their movement practice, challenge themselves physically, and connect through dance. The class uses technique as a pathway to fluid and powerful physical expression and integrates principals of Graham and Limon technique. Starting with work on the floor, moving to standing material and eventually progressing to longer phrases, the class integrates the fundamentals of modern dance using breath, weight, energy and flexibility. This workshop is a chance to reconnect with ourselves and each other through movement in a stimulating and supportive environment and dance our hearts out to some great music!
