Kelly Shaw and Ryan Lee invite all creative movers interested in sharing space, energy and ideas of contact movement:

As experienced movement artists we have developed and honed a working connection through the years, collaborating and creating together in many different working environments.  We share an excitement for the explorations of connection, being together, physically, energetically and how we create and practice.

We offer a container to invite curiosity around: How we bring awareness to the body's natural intuition, while investigating methods of communication, as well as how we interact with a spectrum of energies, impulses and responses both together and apart.

About Ryan

Independent Dance Artist Ryan Lee graduated from Toronto Metropolitan University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. He has been fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Emily Molnar, Guillaume Côté, Kevin O’Day, Stephen Pier, D.A. Hoskins, Darryl Tracy, Sharon B Moore, Julia Sasso and Menaka Thakkar. Ryan has worked for such companies as Human Body Expression, ProArteDanza, Toronto Dance Theatre, Kaeja d’Dance, Anandam Dancetheatre, inDANCE, Larchaud Dance Project, Transcendance, The Chimera Project and TOES for Dance. Ryan has toured internationally and has been nominated for Dora Mavor Moore awards for outstanding ensemble performance – 2011 In between by Roberto Campanella and Robert Glumbek and 2018 for Chasing the Path by Hanna Kiel.

Ryan has been commissioned to make works by ProArteDanza, Anandam DanceTheatre, ACE DanceTheatre, The Emerging Artist Intensive, Canadian Contemporary Dance Theatre, Toronto Metropolitan University, George Brown College, Centennial College, Dance Ontario, Etobicoke School for the Arts and The School of Toronto Dance Theatre. In 2019 Ryan co founded The Platform, a Toronto based collective focused on artistic creation and collaboration.

About Kelly

Kelly is a BFA honours graduate from Toronto Metropolitan University’s Performance Dance program, and recipient of the 2018 Jack McAllister award. She attended Quinte Ballet school, Joffrey Ballet school, Springboard Danse Montreal and studied improvisation in Barcelona, Spain and New York. Since graduating, Kelly has been a full time contemporary dance artist, teacher and choreographer travelling the world performing and collaborating with numerous productions, choreographers and companies.

She has recently worked as Lead Choreographer for Hulu Episodic “How to Die Alone”, as well as Choreographic Associate on “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” and “Witch Mountain” (Pilot). She was a dance double for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Season 2 and a featured dancer in videos by musical artists: Stars, Shad and Monkey House (directed and produced by Oscar winner Miles Dale).

As a concert performer, Kelly has worked under the direction of Roberto Campanella, Jennifer Nichols, Anisa Tejpar, Guillaume Cote, Linda Garneau and Derek Piquette.She is a collaborator and performer with Toronto Contemporary stage companies ProArte Danza, Human Body Expression, Citadel + Compagnie, Gadfly, Alysa Pires Dance Projects, Transcendance Project and was nominated for a 2018 Dora Mavor Moore award for a piece which toured to Korea in June 2019.

Kelly is a dance and mindfulness teacher and choreographer across the country; creating work TV/film, Conservatory programs, Professionals and Pre-Professionals, competitive studios and is certified as a Pilates, Barre fitness instructor and Life coach.
