Variation Class Series II with Riho Dantow
In this 4-week workshop, we’ll learn Medora’s entrance variation from Le Corsaire — a fiery, theatrical solo that blends bravura technique with bold storytelling.
Over the series, you’ll not only learn the choreography but also discover how phrasing, épaulement, and stage presence turn virtuoso steps into expressive character moments.️🩰⚓️
This series is created in partnership with The Fifth and Prix du Canada, a new classical ballet competition supporting adult and youth dancers across Canada.
What you’ll experience over 4 weeks:
Week 1: Learn the choreography step by step
Week 2: Break down the technique within each movement
Week 3: Build stamina and dance the variation fully
Week 4: Become Giselle—bring emotion, storytelling, and artistry to life
Recommended level:
Minimum 1+ year of ballet experience and comfort with basic centre work (for safety).
Please note: This workshop does NOT include barre or warm-up, so we strongly recommend taking the Beginner drop-in class beforehand.
Whether you’re curious about competition repertoire or simply want to build confidence performing a classical variation, this workshop will help you dance with flair, clarity, and character.🌊🩰
