Martial arts is a hot ticket in film & tv, dance, and theatre, and is a valued asset to any performer. This workshop will break down fighting stances, punches, and kicks, so you can unleash your inner superhero/shero/queero! Learn the difference between straight, round, uppercut punches, and front, side, and roundhouse kicks, as well as some fancier movements like spinning hook kicks, jump kicks, and sweeps.

About Sze-Yang

Sze-Yang Ade-Lam is a queer asian nonbinary dancer, martial artist, actor, advocate, and community developer. They share stories for love, liberation, representation & empowerment, as an independent artist, and as part of ILL NANA/Diversecity Dance Company. Since 2011 Sze-Yang has created more accessible affirming dance education and performance opportunities for QT2SBIPOC communities, advocated for change in the arts, and are the force behind the Dora Mavor Moore Awards shift to gender neutral categories & the gender neutral washrooms at National Ballet School.
